Maria Marino provides the vivid hues of her day-time landscapes into the night time with her pastel nocturnes. See a lot more of her do the job (the two day and night time) in our Voices of Working experience post. We have asked some of our preferred artists to show us examples of their night time time paintings and to convey to us a little bit about their processes in this sequence of Nocturne Notes.
Marino shared with us these two illustrations of her exuberant, expressive pastel nocturne paintings. She informed us that her objective is in “catching the thriller of that particular time of night”

“In the finish, it is about finding the viewer to truly feel
rather than to comprehend, to take a look at alternatively than to study,
and to appreciate it relatively than to pass it by.”
